About Me

A little something about me.

I have worked for many years as a counsellor treating depression and anxiety disorders and helping individuals who are experiencing feelings of distress, despair or anxiety and who are experiencing emotional, psychological or behavioural difficulties. I have worked in a wide variety of settings from GP surgeries, Health and Social Care Trusts to private and community settings. I provide CBT treatment for Depression and Anxiety and a range of disorders and including: panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), chronic fatigue/ME, Sleep difficulties, childhood sexual abuse, eating disorders, low self esteem and anger.

I have been a CBT course trainer and supervisor on both Post-graduate and Certificate Courses in Cognitive Therapy and have delivered CBT based Stress Control courses for HSCNI - Belfast Trust. I also have experience of working with individuals using Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) which has been endorsed by NICE as a highly effective form of Relapse Prevention in the treatment of Depression.

I am a fully registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. In adhering to these guidelines, I recieve regular supervision in order to maintain best practice.
